The app's main screen: the camera view at the top, and below it four large buttons, Gade devan m, Li tèks, Repete and Pale.
A man in dark glasses, holding a white cane, speaks into his phone on a colorful street in Port-au-Prince.
Ask a question, wherever you are.
Hands hold a phone above a medicine box on a wooden table.
Hear what a medicine box says.
A woman with a white cane and an earbud walks through a busy market, phone in hand.
Stay in charge of your day.

How to hold the phone

You don't need to see the screen: the app speaks, and you only need to point the camera the right way.

A woman with a white cane holds her phone upright in front of her chest, the camera facing the street.
To know what is in front of youHold the phone upright at chest height, camera facing forward, and say “Gade”. The app says what it sees and where: on your left, on your right or in front of you.
A hand holds a phone flat above a gourde banknote on a table.
For a banknoteLay the banknote flat and hold the phone above it, about twenty centimeters away. The app only says the amount when it is sure.
The call screen: a pulsing green circle and the words M ap koute ou, with the buttons Fèmen mikwo and Fèmen apèl la.

One app, real possibilities.

Everything is done by voice, in Creole. The models run on the phone itself.

Voice assistant
Ask your questions out loud, as in a conversation. Answers come from verified knowledge; when the app is not sure, it tells you.
Text reading
Point the phone at a document, a label or a medicine box: the app reads it to you.
Banknote recognition
Identify gourde banknotes. An amount is only announced when the app is sure.
Describing your surroundings
People, vehicles and objects in front of you, with where they are: left, right or ahead.

Our own models, made for Creole.

Each one has a name and runs on the phone, without sending your voice anywhere to answer.

Krik
The app's voice, which speaks to you in Creole.
Krak
Speech recognition, which understands what you say.
Timalis
The assistant, which answers and keeps the conversation going.
WèKòb
Recognition of gourde banknotes.
The app's Paramet page, Modèl app la section, introducing Krik, Krak, Timalis and WèKòb in Creole.

In partnership with SHAA

VizyonKreyol is built with the Société Haïtienne d'Aide aux Aveugles (Haitian Society for the Aid of the Blind), from the real needs of its members: listening, trials with blind and low-vision people, and improvements at every step.

A man in dark glasses, his white cane beside him, listens to a phone held out by a young woman sitting next to him.

Technology must be accessible to everyone.

We believe in a more inclusive Haiti, where every person, whatever their sight, can learn, work, get around and take full part in society, with dignity and independence.

VizyonKreyol is an everyday aid. It complements the white cane and the people around you; it does not replace them.
